In short
Expat account management in the Maldives is the ongoing care of an employer's Xpat account and foreign workforce records. DBS Maldives keeps each employee's details current, tracks permit and visa expiry dates, prepares renewals and updates, and runs a compliance calendar so nothing is missed.
What is expat account management?
Expat account management in the Maldives is the routine work that keeps an employer's foreign workforce in good standing after hiring is done. Every foreign employee has records in the government's Xpat Online system, a work permit and a work visa, each with dates that need watching.
DBS Maldives looks after this on your behalf. We keep your Xpat account tidy, maintain a single register of your foreign staff, and prepare renewals and changes in good time. You get a clear view of where every employee stands.
Who benefits most?
- Employers with many foreign staff whose dates fall at different times of the year
- Businesses where the person who handled expat files has left
- Owners who have found records in the Xpat system that do not match their own files
- Groups with several companies, each with its own Xpat account
How DBS Maldives helps
- Account review. We compare your Xpat records with your staff list and flag anything that does not match.
- Foreign workforce register. One record per employee, with passport, permit and visa dates side by side.
- Compliance calendar. Expiry dates are diarised and you receive reminders well ahead of each one.
- Renewals. We prepare permit renewals as your authorised representative.
- Updates. When an employee changes role, transfers or leaves, we prepare the changes your records need.
- Quota watch. We monitor your quota against your plans and tell you early if a new quota request will be needed.

Frequently asked questions
What does an expat account manager do?
An expat account manager keeps an employer's foreign workforce records in order. That means maintaining the employer's Xpat account, tracking work permit, visa and passport expiry dates, preparing renewals and updates on time, and reporting regularly so the owner always knows where each employee stands.
How do I keep track of work permit expiry dates?
Keep one central register of all foreign employees with their permit, visa and passport dates, and review it on a fixed schedule. We build and run this register for you, with reminders sent well before each date so renewals can be prepared without pressure.
Can you fix records in our Xpat account that are out of date?
We start every engagement by comparing your Xpat records with your own staff list. Where they differ, we explain what needs correcting and prepare the updates on your behalf. Some corrections depend on the authorities, so we keep you informed as each item is resolved.
Do you manage expat accounts for more than one company?
Yes. Groups often have several companies, each with its own Xpat account and foreign staff. We keep a separate register for each company and a combined summary for the owner, so dates and quota are visible across the whole group at once.
Is expat account management a one-off or ongoing service?
It is ongoing. Dates keep coming round and staff keep changing, so the value lies in steady monitoring. We usually begin with a one-off review and clean-up, then move into a regular monthly cycle of checks, reminders and submissions.
Can DBS Maldives manage our Xpat Online account?
Yes. Employers can appoint an authorised representative in the Xpat system. Once appointed, we keep your foreign-worker records current, track permit and visa expiry dates, and check fees and payment records in your Xpat Online account so nothing lapses unnoticed.
What is an Xpat account relation?
An Xpat account relation authorises an individual or representative to act for an employer in the Xpat system. Relations are activated and deactivated through oneGov. When you appoint DBS Maldives, this is how we are given access to manage your foreign-worker records.
Can you register work sites in the Xpat system?
Yes. We prepare work site registrations and the supporting documents. Registering a work site for permanent quota requires a notarised work site declaration, so we make sure the paperwork is complete before it is submitted.
