HR, Payroll & Expat Services
Recruitment, work permits, expat quota, payroll and day-to-day HR administration for Maldivian employers, handled by one team that keeps your people and your paperwork in order.
Hiring and looking after staff in the Maldives involves more than finding the right person. Foreign workers need a quota, a work permit through Xpat Online and a work visa. Every employee needs to be paid correctly each month, and their records need to stay current.
DBS Maldives handles this work for owners who would rather spend their time running the business. We can take on a single task, such as a work permit application, or the whole people function through HR outsourcing.
- Recruitment and staff sourcing for local roles
- Expat hiring, quota requests, work permits and Xpat account management
- Payroll, rosters, leave and HR records

Can DBS Maldives handle both local and foreign hiring?
Yes. We recruit local staff and manage the full process for foreign workers, from the quota request on jobcenter.mv to the work permit in Xpat Online. Many clients use us for both, so one team understands their whole workforce and can plan local and expat hiring together.
Do I have to outsource all of my HR to work with you?
No. Most clients start with one service, such as a work permit renewal or a monthly payroll run, and add more later if it helps. We agree the scope in writing at the start so you always know exactly what we handle and what stays with your own team.
Can you guarantee a work permit or quota approval?
No one can promise an approval, because the decision rests with the government authorities. What we do is check the current requirements before anything is submitted, prepare complete and consistent applications, and follow them through, which avoids the delays caused by missing or mismatched information.
How do you keep our employee information confidential?
Employee files, salaries and passport details are shared only with the people at DBS who work on your account. We agree with you how documents are exchanged and stored, and we return or remove your records when an engagement ends, so sensitive information never sits loose.
